Myth & Reality - have any civilizations learned that a longstanding myth was true?

Thinking about “soft-disclosure” and how people claim the alien movies of the past are to prime people for the disclosure of true aliens. I want it to be true so bad, but honestly I just can’t believe we have been visited by Ben though I think it’s totally possible.

Have there been societies that faced a similar level of disclosure? Like an “uncontacted” tribe seeing a Marvel movie and Cars 3 the same day? Or something more realistic?
