Flying from TN to CO

Hello everyone. I am flying to Colorado next month and would like to bring a handgun with me to store at my parents place. I am a Tennessee resident over the age of 21 but dont have a conceal carry permit in either state. I am concerned about whether this would be legal or not. I dont plan on conceal carrying in the state. Just want to check my firearm and transport it, locked in my checked luggage, to my parents lace in colorado to store. Any links to specific laws or advice on what to do if this isnt legal would be very helpful! Thanks in advance.
