Dodge changes reduce player agency
I think something that's being missed in the conversation around the new penalties for dodging is how little agency an individual player has within draft.
Most people don't just dodge games for fun and only play optimal drafts out. The biggest reason you'll see why almost every high elo player dodges games is because it gives you agency.
I agree that it's toxic and should be removed, but it's just another case of Riot reducing player agency and not providing any compensation.
We don't need double LP or no LP loss when autofilled. We need some kind of voice chat so that we can actually coordinate in draft to prevent quad marksman into Jax/Malphite, and in game so that even if a draft is "doomed", because you can plan out and discuss win cons to win the "doomed" game.
Increasingly I've noticed that the game has been treated more and more like a single player experience in SoloQ. Where people just focus on optimizing their own gameplay. Queue up, Mute lobby chat, /deafen in game, streamer mode enabled and minimal interaction with teammates is far too common for a multiplayer competitive game, especially at the highest ranks.
You can't add all these anti-cooperative features and simultaneously be a competitive team based game.
TLDR: Riot by doing these dodge changes is addressing the symptom, rather than the cause. That being players feeling like they have little agency in draft.
