What happens when the company I was going to intern for gets acquired?

Weird situation that I can’t find much online about. Basically was going to intern for a startup that just got acquired by a big tech company (won’t say exact name) but think DataBricks, Palantir, etc. caliber.

The problem is I already turned down my offers at other companies since I was pretty set on working for this startup, and it’s pretty late into recruiting for me to hop back on the interview grind. I’m wondering what typically happens in this scenario - and if I might be in very bad shape with respect to having an internship next summer.
