Spravato Isn’t a magic pill but It changed me. Month-2 update

Experience/Stories

I haven’t posted an update in a while, and it’s not because I stopped caring or didn’t want to help people who are going through the same thing. I originally started tracking my Spravato treatments thinking I’d finally have a routine, something stable to document week by week. But life had other plans, and everything I’d been preparing for mentally ended up being needed in the real world.

Spravato/ketamine, in general is not a miracle elixir.
I always explain it like this:

  • Buying an expensive suit doesn’t guarantee you the job.
  • Getting the interview doesn’t secure the offer.

Spravato is the tool, not the result. It’s one part of a much bigger toolbox — therapy, self-awareness, lifestyle changes, support systems, consistency, and sometimes just surviving the day.

But I will say this without hype or exaggeration:
Spravato therapy saved my life.
It gave me my voice back.
It snapped me out of operating in fear.
It helped me look composed on the outside and actually stay together on the inside when everything in my life was spiraling.

I’m not going to break down how the medication works (most people here already know), but I can say that it’s doing its job. That doesn’t mean it’s easy. I’ve wanted to quit. Some days are heavier than others.

A few things I’ve noticed personally:

  • I’ve started smoking tobacco again after basically giving it up before treatment. Circumstances played a role, but Spravato definitely lowered the “hesitation wall” for me picking it back up.
  • Slightly more road rage but nothing wild.
  • I’m far less scared to speak my mind now. Depending on who I’m talking to, that’s either great or… not so great.

This is just my experience, not a rulebook for anyone else. I’m not trying to define Spravato for anyone.

Current status:

  • Second month of treatment
  • Weekly Spravato
  • Ketamine IV every other week (started during month two)

If anyone has questions or wants to share their own experiences, feel free. I hope this helps someone the way others’ posts helped me when I was trying to understand what I was getting into.
