Is cruising alone good enough leg exercise?
Quick background…I’m 39 with chronic leg injury/arthritis, so I can no longer skate proper and haven’t for 25 years. I’ve recently been told by a psychologist and a massage therapist that I should be getting more exercise to improve my mood, etc. and was told to focus on the lower part of my body (so getting back into boxing or kayaking…not so much). The MT commented on the state of my legs not getting enough activity after working on them (muscles are tight, etc.)
Unfortunately, I’m limited due to my issues. I was thinking of getting a cruising board and just riding around some flatland and (maybe) practicing some low-impact/no-twist tricks, if possible. I’m not sure if this counts toward what they mean because I’m essentially only exercising the kicking leg.
Anyone agree or disagree?
