Season 5 timeline

Does anyone else think the timeline is a little funky? Hopper goes into the Upside Down in episode 1, and I think at least 3 days pass for the rest of the characters. Has Hopper just been wandering around for all that time? El gets there when Holly is taken, a full day before Dustin and the love triangle get there when the Demos are after Derek, but they act like it’s been hours at most. We know the state of the upside down is stuck in 1983, but I don’t know if it’s been confirmed that time moves perfectly parallel with the surface. Maybe time moves slower in the upside down. Thoughts?
