REL RTO Log Book Requirements

Hi Guys, I have been issued a permit number for a REL. I have started looking for RTO and have found some places require a logbook and others not and can't work out how this can be.

I have rung ESO and they were no help, but said a log book isn't a part of the application for a license.

Has anyone done this or used "Major Training" for this course and not done a log book?

Thanks
