Should I take this person to small claims court?

Location: Wisconsin

I loaned this friend $2000 in December 2024 and he promised to pay back a few days later. But it’s been a year and he hasn’t. I have a bunch of texts saying he will pay me back, trying to meet up to pay back, etc. but since Feb, he has been avoiding me.

Is this worth to take him to Small claims court?? Thanks!
