Mounjaro and diabetes

So I was just diagnosed with diabetes today. My biological parents were both diabetic so I’ve always been tested for it, and the last three years we have managed my pre diabetes, keeping my a1c at 6 or lower. Well somehow in less than 3 months my a1c went from 5.7 to 9.6. My doctor wants me to start mounjaro and metformin to help treat the diabetes while test and endriconology can see me are done. There are so many reviews for and against use of mounjaro for weight loss but I’m just wondering did it help anyone who is diabetic? What are some things I should be doing besides diet and exercise to help lower my a1c and get to feeling better? Any tips are appreciated.
