37 [M4F] Casual and fun.
Heya,
I’m a 37-year-old married guy with one kid (I know that might not be everyone’s thing, but I figured I’d shoot my shot anyway). Originally from the East Coast, now living in the Midwest—still adjusting. There’s a quieter rhythm out here, but with it comes a creeping sense of isolation. I miss the buzz, the connections, the spontaneity that used to feel more natural.
Work-wise, I’m a Special Ed and Social Studies teacher. It probably sounds more intellectual than it feels on most days—half the time, I feel like a well-meaning babysitter with a master’s degree. But I care about the work and the kids, and I try to show up with something to offer.
I’m not someone who rushes to ask for photos—I’d actually rather have a real conversation first. Something easy. Natural. Let the rest come when it comes.
Musically, I gravitate toward the more subversive stuff—alt rock, punk, metal. Anything with grit and an edge. It’s the kind of music that still taps into that younger version of myself I’ve tried not to lose completely. That said, I can vibe with a good ambient playlist too.
I’m into video games (both the cozy kind and the ones that make me curse), hiking when the weather cooperates, reading, and falling into whatever show becomes my latest obsession. Basically, anything that reminds me I’m more than just a cog in the system.
I’ve also been known to partake in an edible here and there. It has wildly inconsistent effects—sometimes I think I’m unlocking the secrets of the universe (I’m definitely not), and other times I regress into having the humor of an 8-year-old. Either way, it’s good for a reset.
Not picky about body types. I’ve got a few extra pounds I’m working on dropping myself—maybe we could be each other’s cheerleaders. Or just share snack recommendations. I’m flexible.
Just to be clear—I’m looking for online-only connection. Not looking to change anyone’s situation, and I’m not looking for mine to be changed either. If something here resonates with you, I’d genuinely love to hear from you.
