chance a *kind-of* international for Barnard ED!

I love the city. Barnard just seems like a great option for me because I love the balance between a small-knit community and a big population. I'm planning to EDII to NYU if I don't get into Barnard, so a chance me for that would be great too!

Demographics: Gender, race/ethnicity, state, type of school, and hooks (URM, first generation, legacy, athlete, etc.)

new jersey resident (i’ve lived here for 14 years, waiting for EB2 greencard… should get it around next spring but that’s still too late for when i’m applying. most schools that process applications holistically will count me as domestic and international for scholarships and such)

somewhat large public, not super competitive

hooks: none

Intended Major(s): comp sci, but i also have an interest in bio so maybe bioinformatics? I’m trying to fit into a niche where i focus on education and accessibility to CS, hopefully my ECs send that message

UW/W GPA and Rank: 3.78/4.0 uw, 4.91/5.3 w (impossible to get above a 5.15 so idk why it's weighted like that LOL), school doesn’t rank, but def in the top 10% of my class, around 500 kids in my grade. I have As in all my classes except for my math classes... every year I've gotten a B in math and honestly this trend is really freaking me out

Coursework: AP/IB/Dual Enrollment classes, AP/IB scores, etc

going to have 14 APs by the time i graduate, and 15 honors classes (our school does CP, A, and H, with H being the hardest and weighted the same as AP, and they offer around 20 APs)

Essays/LORs/Other: Optionally, guess how strong these are and include any other relevant information or circumstances.

My common app essay is pretty good, it's about me switching instruments and realizing that you can make a huge contribution no matter what part u play in a community and it doesn't matter if ur at the forefront or not... it's kind of hard to explain but it works trust.

My Barnard supp is decent too, I wrote about Devi Vishwakumar bc in theory we are super similar but we have different outlooks on what it means to be successful and how to navigate communities around us

My LORs are good, they were written by my APUSH and Physics teacher (who ive had for 2 years now), and they both love me so ik the letters can't be bad. I also had my boss write me a letter, and my choir director, and I have great relationships with them both.
