Entire face looks different 4 months post op
I had my surgery the 10th of last August. My face started swelling three days after the surgery, but the swelling became less visible after a week or so.
After the visible swelling went away I started noticing a lot of small changes around my face that made it unrecognizable and uglier. The crookedness of my face was amplified after the swelling went away. My eyes became smaller and sunken. My under eye became darker. My cheeks and jowls became fatter. My nostrils became uneven. But most importantly, my nose bridge became wider. All of these changes together made my overall face look bigger.
The procedures I got were just straightening my hooked nose, shaving down my nose bridge and correcting my deviated septum. I can accept my nose bridge becoming wider permanently, although I hope that’s not the case. It’s only been four months and I know that normally swelling fully goes away in a year, but I’m really concerned because while my nose shape became better everything else became worse. The couple days that my face was really swollen during, my eyelids were affected the most. After the swelling around my eyes mostly went away. I noticed that my eyelids became uneven. They had always been uneven before, but now it’s just so noticeable.
My question is: is everything else happening around my face permanent? Is it still too early for the swelling to fully go away? Is it really just swelling?
