Cat with swollen nymph nodes.

I noticed my cat had some growths and took her to the vet. Tests were done (six swollen lymph nodes), and the vet was doubtful it was cancer. Prescribed Prednisone for two weeks, high initial dose, gradually reducing dose for two weeks. Two weeks is over and one growth has disappeared, but another growth has grown much bigger. I've got an appointment in one week, but I'm getting worried. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
