WHY!?

💬 Opinion 💬

A lot of you are getting caught up in parasocial relationships and not asking the serious questions, like: Why am I pushing a creator for Live Fest when they have no intention of attending?

Take Sadie as an example. She’s pulling in thousands every day and openly has zero plans to go. And please don’t use the excuse that it’s “to show how strong the team is” or “to prove we can do it.” You know who can also “do it”? Creators who actually want to attend. Creators who want the exposure, opportunities, and experiences an event like Live Fest offers.

Meanwhile, people with no intention of showing up are taking spots, taking your money, and convincing you it’s all “for the team.” I’m a big supporter of daily rankings, battles, and having fun, so this isn’t about competition itself. This is about running for a limited spot and having absolutely no intention of going, while others would truly value the chance.

And don’t come at me with the anxiety excuse. There is medication, therapy, and endless resources to help adults grow and manage their mental health. If the anxiety is so severe that they can’t attend, then they shouldn’t be running for a spot at an event they can’t be part of. This is about money, plain and simple. That doesn’t erase their charitable work, but it doesn’t change the fact that they’re masking and using the system.

These spots are limited, and it’s selfish to secure one with no plans to attend. It’s disrespectful to the team, even if the team is too loyal or too afraid to call it out. Support creators who genuinely want the experience, who appreciate the opportunity, and who see the value in attending. Choose creators whose communities are excited to see them show up and make something meaningful out of it.

If a creator can’t attend or doesn’t want to attend, they should opt out. Stop falling for people who are just chasing the money and using excuses to avoid the actual event.
