Would you have a problem with an adult bringing a plush to an appointment?

question

I've had nothing but bad dental experiences. Teeth pulled with anesthesia that didn't take. Poor work that needed to be redone and redone and redone. Being shamed for things I had absolutely no control of. I could go on but that's the general idea.

I have an appointment coming up with a dentist I was referred to by a friend.

How would you as a dentist feel about someone mathematically old enough to have grandkids bringing a weighted plush animal to an appointment? I just feel like it might be a comfort and something to keep my hands on. It's not so big it would be in the way of anything. It can be kept easily on my abdomen or lap out of the way.

I'm just worried about giving an impression and making my care situation worse instead of better.
