How do pigeons discipline other pigeons?

Discussion

Goobers been attacking me. Like full on breaking the skin attacking me, anytime I put my hand in his cage.

His cage is his safe space and I don't handle him in there besides the odd little rub with my finger on his chest, and if he bites me or at me when I get close I stop and leave him alone. However he likes to lay down as close to me as possible at the edge of his cage and after he has his sleep next to me he stands up and poops in the middle of his food that he's scattered around and where he lays down, so I've been using a tissue to pick up the poops, that's it. Usually he just stands there and has a little grumpy coo because I'm in his cage but he's been attacking my hands when I'm not going to touch him. He also knows what I'm doing when he sees me come in the cage with toilet paper, because I tell him I'm going to pick up his poops and because that's what the toilet paper is for. He knows I'm not going to grab at him or anything but he's still attacking me!

I know it's territorial and he's allowed to be protective of himself and his own space but I'm not about to let him lay around in his own poop or attack me. I've been giving him a shove and saying "No." Firmly when he's being mean but he keeps doing it.

Is there a way the pigeons discipline pigeons for this behavior that I can mimic?

Things to note: • ahe's young, estimated to be around 8 months old • I think he's a boy as he tried to mate with my foot once • He will take food from my hands nicely in the cage but as soon as the foods gone he goes back to attacking • He doesn't normally go after my hands as aggressively outside of the cage, if he does he gets scooped and smooched and then put on my lap and 90% of the time he just sits there • Occasionally when he's attacking me and it's preventing me from literally doing anything in his cage like picking up poop or refreshing his food I will scoop and smooch him then hold him while I'm doing what I'm doing and put him back in. • No I will not be getting rid of him • No I don't hate him but I do get upset when he's being awful because I love him so much and do my absolute best to respect him and his space
