When I acquired this pool, the Intelliflo VSF "filter pump" was set to run at 3450 RPM from 8am to 8pm. The pump settings were minimum 3450 and maximum 3450.  I modified the settings during the summer to something more suitable. Now I am trying to understand the freeze protection and realizing that overall I have many questions - not so much about the freeze protection.

1. In the schedule I have a setting for the filter pump to run from 9am to 8pm. If this was the only schedule, the filter pump is observed to run at 3450 RPM.  I don't understand where that setting is. Or is it just hard coded that if you don't tell it a speed, then it runs max?
2. Is my logic below correct? I have a  "Filter Pump" schedule that spans the entire time the pump should be running. And then within that time window, set the speed to LOW or MEDIUM when I want. I'll be working to optimize the speeds.
3. I have a Polaris 280 pressure side cleaner. The "Cleaner" speed was already set to 3450 RPM and I left it like that. My thinking was that during the cleaning cycle, have the Polaris doing its thing while the skimmers are aggressively doing their thing. Is that ok, or is it possible the 3450 RPM VSF flow into the Polaris booster pump is too high?
4. Freeze protection is working, but I don't understand the RPMs. You can see that I have the freeze protection speed set to 2500. However, at 8:30am the pump was running at 3450. This is outside any schedule window that I have so I don't understand why it would run at max speed?
