Does baking with distillate or RSO smell up your apartment?

I want to make some edibles from scratch to save money and I’ve been told that sometimes when I bake with CCO, it can smell. I live in a new apartment and they’re strict on weed smell from what I understand. I’m wondering if I should just start going with high-dose tincture drops if I want to save money lol
