Adult HFMD 7+ weeks
I 28F work at a daycare with 1 year olds, in October we had an outbreak of HFMD. I started to feel ill and seeing spots on my legs Oct 10th, and had flu-like symptoms (chills, fever, nausea, diarrhea.) The rash was all over my legs, but seemed to clear up after about a week. Then it came back, but more, and again with the other symptoms. This healing and recurrence has happened 6 times since the initial illness, and I genuinely don’t know what to do anymore. I have had it on my legs, feet, butt, stomach, arms, and this latest time it is not on my tongue and throat. I went to the urgent care two separate times, the first time I went they thought I just had contact dermatitis (despite also throwing up.) The last time I went—about two weeks ago—they agreed it looked like hfmd and makes sense given my job, but were baffled by its constant reoccurrence. They ran bloodwork, and everything looked fine aside from my glucose being very low (43) but I was told that night just be from me not eating much that day. I scheduled an appointment with a PCP but it isn’t until January 8th. Is there something else that could be going on here that is more worrisome/should I be seeking a different type of Dr or return to urgent care again? I have been so so tired it and it making it difficult for me to get anything done when I am constantly becoming ill the moment I feel back to normal. I would love any advice or thoughts, thank you so much! Demographic info: Female, 28, 5’2, 170lbs, Non-smoker, and I take Wellbutrin.
