[uk] Getting digital service record updated without using mazda dealership
The nearest mazda dealership to me is quite a distance. I used to make the trek to keep my service history correctly up to date, but that was when I was getting free mots and services from them (previous car, came as part of the 'deal').
Current car I have to pay for, so the journey is less appealing lol.
I believe it's quite easy for any garage to submit services to the DSR if they sign up for it, but I don't yet know if anywhere local has done, or is inclined to do so. That would be my first stop though.
But just in case, I'd also heard you can just submit a service receipt to mazda via email and they'll do the update for me. However I didn't know if this required any special considerations.
Such as, for example, I know that mazda services go through cycles and need particular items done during particular services. Would I need to match that exactly for the service to "qualify"? Would the independent garage know where to get this info?
Would I need the receipt to show specific OEM items being used / specific oil brand etc, or is it just that the thing has been done at all that matters?
Figured I'd ask the question rather than just make the attempt and then find out later they won't accept it :)
