Weird headset break.

My headset finally broke but in a really weird way. Like a crash it is repeating the last quarter of a second of sound it played but the weirdest thing is when i tried to record it NO microphones could pick up the sound. It wasn’t quite and I had it basically pressed up against the microphones but it would never detect the repeating sound my broken headset made. I want to know how this works, like do headsets normally repeat the last quarter of a second of sound and refuse to turn off and not register button presses or connect to Bluetooth. Also I want to know why no microphones of mine can pick up the sound.
