Will my parent be reported to the police?

I want to preface this by saying my parent has NEVER been physically or emotionally abusive. This was a single, desperate moment in what has otherwise been a loving and supportive relationship all my life.

When I was a teenager, I went through a very low period. My parent, trying to “shock” me into pulling myself together, asked if I wanted to die by suicide and said that if I did, they would help me and then kill themself too. It was meant as an exaggerated scare tactic to get me to clean my room, not a real threat, but it stuck with me a little. He apologized after and said he loved me and he was faking to shock me into cleaning my room.

They apologized afterward and have never said or done anything like that again. I’m planning to bring this up in therapy because I feel like it affected me emotionally more than I realized.

My question is: if this happened years ago and I’m an adult now, but still living with them, would my therapist be required to report it to the police?
