cat eating chair.

So I was doing bongos to my orange cat Cheeto, hes fairly young, fully grown. All of a sudden, he throws his head into my chair and starts to lick and bite it. it's an old chair, and has fake leather. He's done strange things like lick the wall, my pants, a door, a cabinet, my dresser, my footlocker. Is he ok or just being silly?
