need help convincing my mom to let me get a tongue piercing

to preface: i am 18!! i am very aware i am allowed to get this piercing myself, but my mother has paid for my other piercings in the past (eyebrow, nostril, belly button, ears) and is planning to pay for my first tattoo as well. because of this, i still choose to receive her permission (that and also the fact she pays for everything else) as a matter of respect :3

evidently, she is not adverse to self expression. HOWEVER, she is not a fan of lip/tongue piercings. i do not want a lip piercing, but DESPERATELY want a tongue piercing. as stated, i have experience with piercings. i have a reputable piercer (who also pierced my friend's tongue) and know the general rules. i think her fear is any damage to my enamel and/or gums.

is there anything i can say that could convince my mom to let me get this piercing and alleviate her fears? she would NEVER kick me out if i did do it without her permission, but it is honestly for that reason that i chose not to disrespect her in that way.
