Liquid co2?

I just removed my quick connect co2 canister immediately after using it, and when I did, liquid came out where the canister snaps into the machine. It wasn’t producing gas or anything, and it wasn’t freezing as it dripped down the canister, so I’m thinking it was just water that somehow got back there? Can anyone confirm, or is that liquid actually co2 and should I be worried?
