Summons copy failed to be handed to by deputy…
Location: VA. So, the deputy messaged me a week ago about a warrant being obtained. They stated they would send someone by to give a copy of which is I’m presuming a date to show up for court. Unfortunately, I missed them the first time because I was at work. It wasn’t until checking the doorbell camera that there was an LEO there for only 5 seconds, then left. The attorneys I contacted stated not to contact law enforcement, obviously. But, the lawyers stated they need to know more information; what kind of charge is it, what kind of warrant, and which court will this take place in and I’m unaware on how to get that information without contacting law enforcement, or courthouse. So time has past, and nobody attempted to stop by, I haven’t heard anything from a Jury, courthouse, just zilch. So the attorney of mine got their paralegal to reach out to the deputy to find out, if there is actually a case. After that call, a deputy stops by, and I’m out of the house again getting my blood tested and missed the officer again stopping by my house. The attorney emails and relays what the deputy who obtained the warrant stated. Presumably the deputy stated, “I’m not going to jail, and I could call them when its best and which location to serve the summons. “ i asked my attorney why didn’t they put effort into getting the copy sent, and nothing ever happening. He stated because I’m not their top priority and im not a danger to society. With that being said, there shouldn’t be a court date if the summons wasn’t served, correct? The law enforcement seem not to care, theres just been silence and i hear nothing from them. Hypothetically, if I were to continue to remain silent, would this case be overturned or forgotten?
