I have a question as a new member to Verizon

So we got these boxes from Verizon called fois tv+. We are having a serious issue with them, loading between channels is like 3 to 5 seconds, we have constant buffering, and sometimes loses internet connection. My question is, are these little boxes more of a streaming device and less of a cable box? Also are these good TV + boxes common in being bad?

The internet I don’t believe is the problem, I connected to our router connection and is was slower, but when going back to the Verizon connection it was faster, but still experienced what I noted above.
