It is I again. Last time I posted, I cleaned up the barrel and amongst other things on the short straw , kinda fucked 1934 from PSA.

Well, I went to the range and it shot absolutely horribly lol. Trigger pull was heavy, mushy, and inconsistent. It had me anticipating the recoil when that's usually not a problem for me.

So, back on the bench it goes. And upon re-evaluation a lot of things are just horribly loose, particularly between hardened parts (Trigger transfer, Sear assembly, etc) and their pivots.

Laundry list of things done:

-Added both an over & pre travel adjustment. Over travel is with a set screw, and pre-travel is with an eccentric screw that I machined and pressed into the frame. The unintended benefit to limiting the pre-travel was that it now disconnects the trigger in half cock. Which is much safer than before where the trigger is still engaged with the sear, and was "locked up" in this very mushy state.

- Chopped off and surfaced, and polished the trigger transfer pivot and sliding surfaces. Made an oversized spacer to act as the new pivot.

- Machined an oversized spring plunger that sits in the trigger.

- Oversized pivot pin for the sear assembly. Polished the sear and hammer surfaces as well.

With all that work done the trigger finally has a clean and consistent break. I wish I could make the pull a little lighter, but unfortunately the extremely simple design of the 1934 means the pull is directly tied to the hammer tension. And I don't really want to cause light strikes or compromise drop safety.

I think the only thing left to do is to replace the darned barrel, which I'll do eventually. Speaking of, does anyone have experience with Royal Tiger's remanufactured barrels?
