Fluidity is not confusion - it's a Superpower! #BackPocketLesson
I used to over-explain my sexuality to partners because I was a f-ing people pleaser that wanted people to like me and I thought that was the goal. I also thought if a person slept with you that would equal automatic acceptance - man, was I wrong. I wanted them to "get" me.
Then I realized that in every other area of life—business, art, negotiation—mystery is power. I mean, it's okay to be an open book, but somethings I realized like ''all of me'' was somethin' that is something people needed to deserve rather than me always keep over-giving.
The moment I stopped explaining myself and started embodying the ambiguity, the dynamic flipped instantly. I didn't become harder to love; I became harder to ignore.
Stop trying to be a lighthouse. Be the ocean. That's what life taught me, so far.
What about you, what's the one thing life taught/teaches that you keep/kept in your back pocket?
