What does intimacy post hysterectomy look like ?

My wife has endometriosis and has been getting her period every couple of weeks so her doctor has decided she needs to have a hysterectomy. Is there anyone here who has had this done or has a spouse who has had it done? My hope more than anything is that her pain from the endometriosis goes away and she is able to fully enjoy intimacy again.
