marring someone who has interests

I live in London and I practice Islam. I recently met a guy who has started practicing Islam few years ago, and I’m really happy with his character and his faith so far. My question is: according to Islam, is it an issue to marry someone who took out a loan (with interest) before and still has many years left to repay it? He told me about it right away so I’d know, and he’s trying his best to pay it off as soon as possible. What does Islam say about this situation?
