Most of the apostles were brutally tortured and killed for believing in Christ. Checkmate atheists /s

I’m getting so tired of the classic martyrdom = proof mindset that a lot of Christians seem to hold dearly onto. The fact that they need to make such a big reach is a testament to what little objective evidence they have for their claims.

Does wholeheartedly “believing” in something excuse us from reality? How can belief equate to “truth”? People have died for some pretty wild beliefs in the past (Jonestown, Heaven’s Gate, Kamikaze Pilots, 9/11 attacks). Does this automatically affirm their ideologies as correct? I mean for Christ’s sake. Why couldn’t group pressure or lack of basic knowledge of our universe be some of the reasons to blame here?

All of these logical problems while GRANTING the fact that these apostles existed. Despite, again, very little extra-biblical evidence. Most of these martyrdoms are very likely historically unverified legends.

When can we generally just stop giving them bonus privileges or granting them so much extra just for holding onto flawed beliefs? So many people need a reality check.
