Considering UMich Transfer from MTU

Hello all, I'm currently an electrical engineering student at Michigan Tech and I'm considering transferring to UofM for fall 2027.

My high school GPA was a 3.2, and I expect my GPA after finals next week to be between a 3.8 and a 4.0. I am behind in my math requirements so I will be taking calculus 2 over the summer and applying to UofM without all of the listed pre-reqs completed. I will have every pre-req except physics 1, which I will complete the semester I will apply. Is it okay I am behind in these regards?

As for reasons I am considering transferring, I feel like I don't mesh with the community here at Tech, I have mixed feelings about the small size and lower rankings, and I live close to Ann Arbor. I also feel that I will be able to flourish academically at UofM in a way I can't here, with UofM having more concentrations and technical electives that speak to my career ambitions.

What should I focus on while I am here at Tech in order to increase my chances of acceptance to UofM?

Thank you for your help.
