Hey everyone,

Hoping for some quick insight on two things with my new 2024 Escape.

***

### 1. Key Fob Remote Start is not working - **RED BLINKING LIGHT**

My key fob remote start function is completely unresponsive, even though the **FordPass app remote start works perfectly.**

**Problem:**

When I try to remote start, the **red light on the fob blinks rapidly**, and nothing happens with the car.

**Checked:**

* Both key fobs do this.
* Vehicle battery is good (>40%).
* Feature is enabled in car settings.

**The Question:** What does that rapid **blinking red light on the fob** mean? Ford's manual says it means "start failed," but since the app works, I'm hoping someone knows the specific failure code this indicates (like a hidden DTC or hood sensor issue).

### 2. Timed Departure "Warm" Confusion

I've been using the Timed Departure feature with the **"Warm" setting** for my wife, but the cabin air never gets warm—just the surfaces.

**Vehicle:**

* 2024 Escape w/ Premium All-Weather Package.

**Observation:**

* Only the **heated seats and heated steering wheel** activate.
* No warm air from the vents (mornings high 30s/mid 40s F in Richmond, VA).

**The Question:** Does the **Timed Departure "Warm"** function *only* pre-heat surfaces (seats/wheel/defrost) and is **designed NOT** to use the blower motor? Do I **HAVE** to use the standard remote start (app or fob) to get the warm cabin air?
