Inheritance

Question, my boyfriend is 61 he draws Social Security death benefits off of his deceased wife. I am on SSDI because I got Transverse Myelitis after Covid vaccine. We had joint bank accounts, etc. His mom passed away, he will inherit 55K cash this week, then when her house sells, (probably 6-8 months-how niece is living there until she graduates nursing school) Does he need to notify SS or do I need to notify them? (I work from home part time too) is it going to affect our payments? How does this work?
