Celaena is a terrible assassin

Preface: I’m through The Assassin’s Blade and Throne of Glass and I will likely finish the series.

Celaena seriously makes me mad. Or the writing of her. She has not done a single thing and there isn’t really any part of her character that leads me to believe her claims of being the “best assassin ever” or whatever. In Assassin’s Blade she keeps listing accomplishments like stealing the horses and freeing the slaves, but girl, you didn’t do that. Or at least you only did part of it and had to be saved.

Is this intentional writing? Am I going to find out that Arobynn secretly helped her and made sure her name was known just to keep her safe or mess with her somehow? Don’t answer that if it’s a spoiler haha. But seriously. All she does is get caught up in her emotions, she doesn’t seem to have any stealth, and then get caught. In EVERY situation. Is it just SJM trying to create drama?

I’m tired of reading about how great Celaena is supposed to be and none of her actions or character features back it up. Does it get any better?
