Ear infection misdiagnosed for a week

So, went in and saw an APRN last week for ear pain and was diagnosed with an outer ear infection. They gave me these ear drops. By the end of the week my other ear hurt, so we called and I was told to use them in both ears.

It got worse over the weekend instead of better. So, I went back in and this time they had me see a FNP (same office, just depends on who had an open appointment that fast). Turns out I’ve actually had an inner ear and sinus infection.

Not impressed, though I am wondering if my POTS could have confused things, since some of the symptoms of an inner ear infection seem to overlap with my “normal” symptoms. For example, dizziness and balance issues.

Either way, now I get to be on a combination antibiotic instead that’s helping the infection and upsetting my stomach 😅.
