No USB data transfer while quick/fast charging (Xiaomi 15)

I don't really know how to address this issue or where the issue even is. A few days ago I switched from a Pixel 8 Pro to the Xiaomi 15, and can't use the type-c port on my laptop with it.

The port offers quick/fast charging (depending on the cable used), but the phone apparently does not "connect" the USB data lines while quick charging.

So in short, it does not get recognised by the laptop and that port cannot be used for file transfer, debugging, etc. It simply immediately goes to quick charging and that's it. The same port works perfectly with my old Pixel, with a Samsung S22, and an S25. They get fast charging and data transfer, the Xiaomi is limited to charging only.

I tried different cables, and set the usb to File Transfer in "Default USB configuration", but it didn't help.

Is this just regular Xiaomi 15 behaviour? Are there any workarounds?
