Cutting off of return points in ep2, why?

Playing the mission where im trying to find desiree’s mom. Coming back to exit the way i came and trying to hop the sandbags to get to the boat and just cant. Its actually the second time it happened in just a few minutes. I can come one way, but cant hop over the same thing.This should NEVER be a thing in games, especially when the only other way is to run right by the fricking bell, especially when its nitetime. I dont remember any kind of tomfoolery like this from episode 1 and i think id rather quit the game than do the whole mission again. Also how did they forget to add it so that you move your holsters back like it is in the star wars game. Im tired of grabbing, and often dropping and losing my holstered items.
