Finally feel like a potsie
I went to the ER yesterday and left ama because I knew they wouldn't do anything. I actually started gaslighting myself into thinking maybe I am making all this up in head. Anyway, I went because all my usual treatments weren't working and I'm not currently taking any medication for my pots and SVT because I haven't found any that help and I don't often have long or debilitating symptoms. I am very blessed in that aspect but it's always made my imposter syndrome rear it's ugly head. So, the doc came in and said my blood pressure was down (mine goes up not down when I'm having an episode) and he told me that high BP was not associated with either pots or SVT and my heart rate was fine. Then he proceeds to tell me that if they can't find any issues that the next steps would to get me set up with a PCP since I don't currently have one due to transportation and insurance issues and "see if this is chronic or just a one time episode." I died right there because he clearly didn't read my chart to see that I've been seen multiple times for years for the same thing. By the time the nurses came to draw blood and start fluids an hour and a half later, I was ready to leave and knew that he wouldn't give me any medicine for my heart rate since it wasn't high (because I was laying in bed for hours) and I left the hospital crying. Hopefully my imposter syndrome died that day too because it was the first time I actually felt like a potsie.
