Getting back into buying fine jewelry and wondering how to know if a piece is priced right. I buy 18kt and used to buy by the gram. What’s a ball park reasonable price vs unreasonable ? I understand it varies greatly by craftsmanship etc :)

I have a few pieces in mind but very pricey. I get it! Price of gold has sky rocketed. I accept and appreciate that better craftsmanship = higher price. From my understanding Italian is the best in the world? (Please correct me if I am wrong :) ).

How is Turkish gold in terms of quality?

Does the ‘origin’ greatly impact price?

I’m seeing a dramatic variation in prices from $150 per gram to $400 per gram.

I dont want to buy the cheapest but I dont want to over pay when I dont have to. Any advice appreciated! It’s been years since I’ve bought fine jewelry!
