25M asking: How should I respond or behave when a woman (23F) ends things abruptly like this?

I’m a 25M. She’s 23F.

We knew each other loosely through an LDS YSA ward but never talked much. We matched on Mutual and met up once for a quick, very short meetup because she said she was moving out of state soon.

Her messages before and after the meetup were very brief and somewhat confusing for me to interpret. After I tried to politely clarify whether she’d still be in town before her move, she replied with short answers. The next day, she sent me: “Okay cool don’t respond back.”

I didn’t reply. I’m not angry at her — I’m just confused about how to handle this kind of situation in the future.

My question for women is: How should a guy respond or carry himself when a woman ends communication very abruptly like this? I want to understand what behavior is respectful and healthy on my side so I don’t unintentionally make future interactions uncomfortable.
