CRSC Backpay

I am 100% T&P disabled and was recently informed by lawyers through LSW that I would be eligible for CRSC as I also retired from the Army in 2012. My question is, how far back does backpay go for CRSC? The lawyers told me that its backdated to time of filing but I've also read that it goes back to date of retirement. Does anyone have an accurate answer?
