Catching feelings for a friend and not knowing if it’s reciprocated 24F 27M

I’ve been spending a lot of time with my guy friend recently and in the past few months things have changed between us.

We’ve been constantly calling each other frequently, lots of eye contact, touchy, he’s said he loves me so many times, paying for me if we went out somewhere, talking about sex and it was like this for a few months and then out of nowhere he just pulled back. I’ve been wanting to talk to him but I wonder if he is dating someone else and that’s why he’s pulling away from me now.

I already feel like the dynamic of the friendship has changed and I would address it but I feel like he’s avoiding us spending time together by saying he’s busy, not answering texts etc.
