ADHD + anxiety meds are messing me up after dose increase. lost appetite, losing weight, can’t study. Need advice. I’m trying to figure out whether this is a normal adjustment period or a sign that the dose isn’t right. Please share your advice.
I’ve been taking Vyvanse for ADHD and Lexapro for anxiety/depression. On the first week of the original doses, I felt calm but had very low energy, emotional numbness, worse focus, dizziness, and became easily annoyed. I also lost my appetite, started eating only once a day, and lost weight.
After a week, the effects faded and I felt normal again. My doctor increased my meds to Vyvanse 20mg and Lexapro 15mg. At first, I felt calm with okay energy, but quickly things got worse: my appetite is still very low, I can’t study, I’m unmotivated, my anxiety went up, I feel emotionally flat, and overall I feel worse than before taking medication. Wasted my whole day. It’s been 5 days since dose change. My exam is next week and I can’t focus at all.
I’m looking for advice from people who’ve experienced this: Is this normal when increasing doses?
