Tom was simple. He always was simple. Tom was by no means stupid, he just preferred silence, he preferred bland food, and he preferred simple art. Tom was simple, He lived in a small apartment, too small to be called cozy but big enough not to be called unpleasant. Tom was simple, the walls were an eggshell white, his couch was gray, as were his sheets, his pillow cases, his rug, his clothes, his towel, his dishware, and finally his cat which funny enough was named Orange. Tom was simple and he loved his cat, he wasn’t very tall, or muscular, or funny, in fact Tom rarely spoke. Tom was simple, Tom was a quiet man who loved his cat. Tom worked a simple job where he sat behind a desk in a small cubicle surrounded by people he didn’t particularly like. All day he crunched numbers, and checked data and reviewed paperwork, and all night he would lounge around his simple home with his very expressive and beloved cat, Orange. Tom was simple and he loved his cat, his only serious expense was cat food, of which Tom insisted on buying the best no matter the cost, as was the same with cat litter, cat toys, and cat treats. Tom was simple and he loved his cat… Was. What a devastating word.
