Are there dental specialists for severe teeth issues?

General Advice

I rescued a three year old golden /boarder collie mix about a month ago. She had been dumped in Texas and was moved out of state for a better life. I took her to my vet just to do a run down of her health and look over vet record from the rescue. I had noticed her teeth up front look weird like they hadn’t grown in? She is a very sweet dog but wants nothing to do with me touching her mouth to get a good look. The vet and I tried to examine them and we think she was caged and was chewing on something hard and had grinded her teeth in front down to nubs 😭 I got a quote to have them xrayed, cleaned and extracted if necessary. Not to make this any longer, my question is she eats fine and they don’t seem to bother her. Do you all trust your personal vet to pull what is needed? Does she need them pulled if she isn’t showing pain? I would hate to think she has exposed roots. Also are there specialists I should be seeking out or is a traditional vet ok for this type of procedure. I worry it will be all of her front lil teeth maybe around 7-8. Thanks for any advise
