what is the point of the random glowing rocks?

i don’t have a picture of them rn but all over the game there’s random small force sensitive rocks that seemingly have no purpose and just break apart when you throw them. i got through the entire game without using them for any real purpose so im just curious to know wtf those are for and if i completely missed something? 😭
