Help me chose which new dentist to go to?
My dentist got bought out by private equity so it’s out of network. The last I saw him he said I had 2 cavities. There were several dentists at that office and I called insurance, it is out of network.
Theres a chain next to me which my insurance covers. I went to get my two cavities filled but they did the exam and said I had 8 cavities and began tryin to sell me a subscription. 3 people came in and showed me their phone calculator with the price I’d pay. I said no I’ll come back. I never did. I didn’t like the vibe. The chain is rated very well online so idk about ratings :(
A new dental office opened near me. It looks very modern and like a med spa. I don’t think it’s a chain. The reviews are good and the 2 dentists are young, they have an endo and a oral surgeon there. But one review said their filling fell out. Which the office did redo for them for free. Has a trendy type of name, it’s not just Dr… someone else said they had a mess in their teeth they had to get fixed so idk what they meant. Not many filling reviews
The other office is an older dentist who is just him. He has an Endo with him and my local Facebook group gives him praise. The reviews say his dental work is good. Idk if he’s conservative with his diagnosis? One person said they were pushed to do a root canal and later found out they didn’t need it. People just say they had good root canals or fillings or say how he’s been in town for so long he’s a no frills real type of guy.
Basically I’m scared of getting over diagnosed but I know I have 2 cavities. My old dentist was very conservative in his treatment. We were monitoring those 2 teeth for years but I figured it’s time to just get them filled. Idk if you guys would help me chose one or help me find out how to chose one. My dads dentist has a 3/5 on reviews while these 2 offices are pretty well rated
